It includes a rich set of source code and a toolbox of software components for creating distributed, open architecture management applications. Because it provides a published framework for how software components integrate and share security, reporting and other configuration information, it permits a building block approach that allows software and hardware components from multiple vendors to work together and leverage each other’s abilities in ways not possible with traditional single vendor approaches.
