WHAT WE BUILD
Drawbridge Cloud
AMT builds and operates Drawbridge Cloud, a physical access control platform that runs on standard, non-proprietary hardware — HID Aero, HID Edge and VertX, and ASSA ABLOY IP-enabledlocks. Hosted on Amazon Web Services and run by us: updates, backups, monitoring and recovery are our job rather than yours. The same platform deploys as a private cloud when an organization’spolicy requires it.
The hardware is deliberately ordinary. If AMT ever stops earning the business, the readers and controllers on the wall keep working for whoever comes next. That is a constraint we accepted on purpose.

That has been the operating principle since the beginning, and it is why Drawbridge looks the way it does. Every feature has to survive one question: does this make the system easier to own?
The second belief is newer. For most of this industry’s history, access control was about the door — who is allowed through this opening. That framing made sense when a credential was a piece of plastic and the system was a wiring diagram. It does not describe how organizations actually work now. Drawbridge is built around the identity: who a person is, where they are allowed to go, and what the video shows when they go there. The door is still there. It is just no longer the subject of the sentence.

The record
AMT was founded in 1997 and spent most of its first two decades as the engineering behind other companies’ products. More than a dozen security OEM brands haveshipped AMT-built access control under their own names. Drawbridge is that engineering, run as a service, with our name on it.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Most of the market
Traditional access control was designed for an organization with a security operations centre and a trained operator sitting in it. Most organizations do not have one. A school district has a facilities director. A clinic has an office manager. A city has a public works supervisor who also handles the doors, and the plough schedule, and the water treatment plant.
The industry calls this the rest of the market. We think it is most of the market. It is who AMT has built for deliberately for nearly thirty years, and it is why the product gets judged on one thing: whether someone can use it on a Tuesday morning without training.
